One Bad Real Estate Salesperson

Matt Wilson has written a great article about an experience he had recently with a real estate salesperson. New Year, New Goals

As the new year approaches, we look back to what we have accomplished and set goals for the future - be it in our personal or corporate lives. One such goal that I get a large number of questions about is how to become a real estate agent.

Becoming a real estate agent is a great goal. But to achieve that goal, there are a number of subachievements that you will have to accomplish.

Besides these, you should question yourself as to what would make you a good realtor? What can you provide that is different than anyone else in the market.

One last piece of advice I can offer is that you take courses on marketing. If you cannot market yourself, it will be very hard to be successful in real estate in the long run.

Even though these seem obvious, it is a good read if you are looking at getting your real estate license.

A Great Place to Share Ideas with other Realtors

It is not easy to start a new career as a real estate agent. It is a dog eat dog world and each realtor must fight for every listing or client. But should realtors see each other as predators? I have found a site that does not think so.

Active Rain is an online community for real estate professionals. It allows realtors to share ideas about current topics in forums and blogs. It is definitly worth checking out even if you have not gotten your real estate license and are curious about the real estate profession. Remember, network, network, network.
